OVERVIEW
“Like we had to realise that different genders and different races are part of our society, people with Different Abilities are also part of our society and entitled to opportunities.”
Different Abilities are not about a new name for disability because it will carry the same stigma. It’s about the realisation that disability is another probability on the Normal-distribution of our society! Rather refer to “A person with a disability“.
This website wants to share information about challenges to increase awareness because PwD are also a part of our society.
Originally trained as an Industrial Engineer and with 20 years’ experience as manager, and as a PwD, I am equipped to advise on the challenges of persons and productivity of processes.
I have a passion to help Persons with Disabilities (PwD). I learned to do most things without a forearm, but at age 45 half of my cerebellum had to be removed after a stroke. I therefore have natural, visible, traumatic and invisible impairments.
It is important to drive productivity while caring for people but organisations sometimes struggle with this.
A company present job opportunities and people are the resources. To maintain both the job requirements and the needs of people are essential, and they need to be balanced. One is a moral obligation and the other is a financial consideration.
Rightfully, an organisation wants to direct people on production targets, therefore a process must exist to address the challenges of people to become productive as soon as possible.

As somebody who had to learn to manage without a forearm and half a cerebellum (which had to be removed after a stroke), I am rightly passionate about helping Persons with Disabilities (PwD). I had a variety of ill-health experiences that covers a part of the recovery spectrum.
My unique value proposition (UVP) is focused on creating an environment where different abilities can also add value because disabilities are a neglected part of our society.
My skills includes an Industrial Engineering degree (B.Eng Industrial-Mechanical at Stellenbosch), backed by 20 years’ management experience. As a Person with Disability (PwD) I am equipped to advise on the challenges of persons and productivity of processes.
